Welcome Back to School!
Dear Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm (FS-ISS) Bilingual Families, I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer, and you’re relaxed, recharged and ready to start a new school year. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your children.
All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our enthusiastic Administrative team is completing the registration of new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility. And our dedicated Security Building Maintenance Supervisor has been working hard at getting the school in shape for this coming school year. Our energetic Fritids staff is already back at work raring to go.
We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning.
Mr Misaghi, has move his talents to Futuraskolan Bergtorp where he can assist and build the same supportive structure he has given our school in the past years, he will continue to be an active parent within his child’s class here at our school.
Ms Bengtsson, who has been a long time figure within Futuraskolan made the decision to move her talents back to Solna Kommun, where she was prior to coming to Futuraskolan.
We wish them both the best of luck, and we will stay in touch!
Each year brings positive change. This includes a few additions to our staff. We are delighted to welcome the following staff:

You will see some changes when you enter the school this year. We have built a reception area where both Administrators from Bilingual and International school will be located. This provides a more accessibility and comfort to our parents and guests.
My office has relocated to the first floor of the building where I am able to be closer to the playground and accessibility to the entrance of the building.
Our classrooms have moved around for the lower grades 1-5 and the Home Economics room has also been adapted as a classroom to accommodate one additional classroom room for our school.
We have created a Student Welfare room on the 2nd floor next to the nurse’s room so students who need some private space can go there to rest.
Lastly, we have created a teacher’s work space on the second floor as well, which allows students and teachers better accessibility to each other.
A great deal of time, effort and thought has gone into the process of student placement for classes 5a and 5b in 2018-2019 school year. As I wrote previously above, and also on June 3 2018; our classrooms have moved around for the lower grades 1-5, and this affects 5a and 5b’s and their classroom size. We have given careful consideration to changing of the classes to balance academically and socially. We will provide the new class list on Skolplattformen before the first day of school on Wednesday, August 22nd. Thank you so much for being supportive and positive with this change.
Please know that ALL of our staff works hard to make school a positive experience for ALL students. FS-ISS eagerly looks forward to enriching your child’s life.
Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. Your commitment to ensuring that FS-ISS remains a celebrated and successful school is awe-inspiring. I eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Please stop by and say hello. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children.
